Sealants
SERVICES » Sealants
Your back teeth are called molars and they have deep crevices and pits. Bacteria and food debris can easily get caught within these grooves, leading to tooth decay (cavities). For children with deep grooves, the dentist may recommend sealants.
Sealants are thin, liquid coating that is applied using a small brush. Sealants fill in the grooves of molar teeth preventing the accumulation of bacteria and food debris, which in turn can prevent cavities.
Sealants are made of a medical grade resin and are safe. Their application is gentle, fast and painless (no tooth drilling required).
